"Since our last update, a lot has happened! The last two weeks has been a complete whirlwind!!"

"The electricians finished wiring, our custom concrete sink was installed, plumbing was completed and we received our certificate of occupancy. Then... we had to catch our breath. We moved in cabinets and shelves and were lucky to have lots of strong men help move and assemble them. Next, packing up boxes from the old office."

     

"Being the designers on our own project was a thrilling experience. It's so exciting to see our neat bathroom lighting in use, our one of a kind bathroom sink and the custom concrete studio floor in color!"

January 21, 2010  Wow what a New Year!

Construction on our office is still going on, but it's all starting to come together! 

Our floor and walls are getting some COLOR!!  Come back to see photos soon!!

January 14, 2010    The next phase is complete!

 Our walls are up and the concrete floor is complete!

We're getting very excited to move in!

But, not yet!! There is still more work to be done

What's new at Laura Gills?  We are our own worst client!

December, 2009     We have begun construction on our new office.

                            

Presently, we are busting at the seams with wall paper and fabric samples while working elbow to elbow in the existing office. Good thing we like each other!

Naturally we are eager to use all of our skills and ideas, starting from the ground up.

But, as we are both the designer and the client on this project, we are facing new challenges. We are quickly realizing that we can be both our best and worst client!! On some days we find so many great ideas, it’s hard to choose just one, while on other days, nothing really excites us. And with Tracy as the project foreman, we are always asking her, “When’s that new office going to be done?” Tracy usually replies with a smirk, as she looks up from her auto cad, “I’m working on it.”

            

No matter the challenges we will face during our new adventure, we know it will be fun and we are confident the outcome will be spectacular!!
